Central Receiving

The mission of Central Receiving is to receive goods for the university and expedite the inspection and delivery of those goods to University departments. Delivery should be in a timely and efficient manner, assuring the goods are received in good condition and preventing the University from incurring unnecessary losses while complying with State and Federal Commerce laws. Central Receiving shall strive to provide best in class courier service to all campuses in support of schools and departments and support the reallocation and disposal of surplus property as provided for by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Central Receiving is also responsible for managing the University's Surplus Property program. Equipment no longer needed by the department must be turned in to the Surplus Property Office.
