Become Certified as a Small, Women, or Minority-Owned (SWaM) Business

1. 1. Examine the Annual SWaM Procurement Plan for FY 2025 –
      1. Go to SBSD website – https://www.sbsd.virginia.gov/certification/
      2. Download the SWaM Application Instruction Guide (see Hyperlink) – https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QFiw5srISy3Lqzd8fzhBFiYQxreepSBGF9Ro_yYRYLU/edit?usp=sharing  or pdf attachment
      3. To start the application process, click the blue link labeled “To Begin the Certification Process” or this link: https://certification-app.sbsd.virginia.gov/boLogin.
   2. Follow ALL of the instructions indicated in the SWaM Application Instruction Guide.
   3.  Ensure that all documents requested by the SBSD are complete and uploaded before the SWaM application is submitted

*Users are strongly encouraged to log back into their SBSD account to determine whether or not their SWaM application has been accepted and approved by the SBSD.
