What's New

MS Teams TouchNet User Group

We’ve created a Teams TouchNet User Group to announce upcoming U.Commerce application updates, functional changes, helpful tips, and well…user information. If you want to be added you can join here. You can remove yourself from the group at any time.

Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) will be added to Production today, Thursday, September 16th. A Quick Start Guide for setting up your MFA Login Account can be located in the files area of the Teams Touchnet User Group.

MFA was added to the Test environment last month. You can log into your Test account and set up MFA in Test now to see how easy it is.

Marketplace Refunds

If you hold the role of Fulfiller with Cancel/Refund Rights and you haven’t processed a refund in a while, recent changes to the uStore refund process may catch you a little off guard. New with the 8.0 upgrade, is the Refund option from the left side menu.

There is no longer a pop up message asking if you want to continue or cancel. Be sure to verify the refund screen before selecting Process Refund. Once your refund is completed, you are returned to the refund menu and can scroll up to verify the refund completion message.

When issuing a partial refund, TouchNet automatically recalculates the remaining amount to be refunded and updates the Fulfillment Activity of the transaction.

It is important to scroll up and verify the refund completion message was received, verify the Fulfillment Activity has been updated and the Refundable amount has been recalculated.

Marketplace Tip

Maintaining Access

Users requesting a TouchNet Marketplace production account also receive a Test environment account. Test accounts are used for training, trying new configurations and layouts, and for testing new upgrade features.

TouchNet generally waits 3-4 weeks after an upgrade is applied in Test before applying the upgrade in production. This is ample time for users to become familiar with new features in an environment without affecting their production uStores/uPay sites.

Many users lost access to their Test and Production uStores from inactivity due to Covid. If a user doesn’t log into their accounts for a year or more, TouchNet’s automated user activity review process removes the user’s access and all roles held.

We often hear from users who discover they no longer have access to their accounts during a time when they need access right away. If a user’s last login was near the year mark, it’s possible to reactivate their account, but reactivating may not occur the same day as the request. If a user has not logged in for more than a year and their access has already been removed, they will need to resubmit their TouchNet access paperwork. The access delay can be frustrating.

We suggest adding a recurring task on your Outlook calendar as a reminder to log into your Test/Production accounts each quarter so your access stays active.

Email commerce@gmu.edu if you find you can no longer log into your accounts.
